About
Curd Science Olympiad (CurdSO) was founded in the 2024-25 Science Olympiad season by three enthusiastic members: Aneesh Iyer (Mason), Vishal Surya (Seven Lakes), and Sourish Pramanik (Montgomery) in partnership with Madison West and Wisconsin Science Olympiad. The first annual CurdSO Invitational will be taking place during the month of February, with the Division B invitational running from February 1st-9th and Division C running from February 8th-16th.
The tournament will be running via the Satellite format, where students can take the tests at their own school without having to travel anywhere through Scilympiad.
Objectives
We understand the limitations that are provided through running a tournament virtually rather than in-person, though we hope to mimic the same enjoyment factor through various means:
A stress-free competition experience. Our team of experienced student and alumni volunteers handles all aspects of each tournament, from event planning to test writing, freeing up coaches to focus on coaching their students. Our tournaments also span several days, offering your teams the flexibility of finding a time to compete that works best.
High quality tests. Our Event Supervisors are selected from a pool of the nation's most experienced competitors and alumni. Along with our Event Supervisors working their hardest to write tests that are both challenging and enjoyable, these tests are then carefully reviewed by our organizers to ensure that each is of high quality and adheres to event rules.
Trial Events. Five additional events will be run for this tournament in both Divisions, with an emphasis on team bonding and amusing experiences for the competitors. Some examples of this include our cheese-themed trial, as well as a cake-baking competition and many more!
Communication. We strive to be as clear as possible with all coaches and competitors, providing swift and satisfactory responses to any issues/concerns brought up.
